Goals of Reporting Period 24/25

DENIOS sustainability strategy

Sustainability, in the form of environmental protection and occupational health and safety, has been one of the pillars of the DENIOS business model ever since we were first founded. As part of our sustainability strategy, we are committed to adhering to and continuously developing our sustainability goals to minimise our ecological footprint and constantly improve our impact on the social environment for a future worth living.

'Wir sagen, was wir tun und wir tun, was wir sagen.'

We manage our sustainability issues according to a systematic approach that is embedded into every area of our organisations. As such, our sustainability strategy forms part of our long-term business strategy. Our Product Development team focuses on the future needs of our customers, always working to significantly improve people's working conditions and protect the environment from existing and potential environmental risks caused by hazardous substances. In the long term, we want to make 50% of our product portfolio carbon neutral and implement recycling concepts across the board for our room systems. Thanks to our efforts in reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, all our sites are carbon neutral.

Working with people, for people and the environment – we create flexible workplace conditions in line with the latest concepts and standards, and position ourselves as one of the most attractive employers in our local area.

Our sustainability strategy

These goals were developed in numerous internal workshops and subsequently discussed and agreed by the Managing Directors.

1. Corporate environmental protection

SDG 9 icon

Company cars

We will make more than 30% of the DENIOS vehicle fleet hybrid vehicles.

SDG 4 icon

Environmental education series

We organise lectures and training courses on various environmental topics in an environmental education series. Possible main topics: recycling, sustainable procurement or carbon footprint reduction. The presentations are given by our own employees or by external organisations. Target group: our own employees or external groups (schools, clubs).

SDG 12 icon

Sustainability week

As in 2022 and 2023, the DENIOS Environmental Heroes are organising a sustainability week in the current reporting period. Planned topics: Planning a 'healthy breakfast', a rubbish collection campaign and a tree planting campaign.

SDG 13 icon

Waste separation in the offices

Various measures are intended to sensitise employees to the need for stricter waste separation. Reducing the number of waste bins is being considered, and the purchase of new waste separation bins is being planned as well.

2. Sustainability in the supply chain

SDG 12 icon

Compliance with guidelines

We implement processes for compliance with the requirements of the Supply Chain Act for all our material and product suppliers and require our A-suppliers to obtain EcoVadis or comparable certification and to comply with the guidelines of the UN Global Compact.

SDG 12 icon

Less packaging in logistics

The LZL and LZD logistics centres and external logistics partners use various packaging materials for shipping general cargo and parcels. The aim of the project is to reduce packaging materials in general without affecting product quality and to replace environmentally harmful materials with recyclable ones.

3. Customer satisfaction

SDG 12 icon

Carbon-neutral products

We offer our customers carbon-neutral products through our Catalogue Products unit along with recycled room systems and 'green' service through our Engineered Solutions business unit. This way, we can work together with our customers to reduce our ecological footprint.

4. DENIOS as an employer

SDG 8 icon

Balance of career and family

Happy employees are motivated employees. That is why we offer more flexibility for everyone working at DENIOS, so that they can better balance their careers and their family lives.

SDG 4 icon

International employee development

With an in-house 'E-Learning Academy', we will continue to expand our employee development – especially at an international level. These online courses provide information about the company and corporate goals (environmental protection, sustainability). In the current reporting period, we will develop and publish 20 courses in the 'E-Learning Academy'

SDG 13 icon

Digital format of payroll accounting system

We are converting our payroll accounting system to a digital format in the current reporting period. The previous sending of invoices by post will no longer be necessary in future, thereby saving paper and also eliminating postal transport routes.

5. Systematic balance sheets

SDG 9 icon

IT-supported energy balance sheet

By setting up an IT-supported energy balance sheet throughout the DENIOS Group, we are ensuring that ESG criteria are consistently being met and that the carbon footprint is being clearly presented.

SDG 9 icon

ESG reporting with software solution

We are optimising the preparation of our ESG reports by introducing ESG reporting software. This solution will enable us to effectively capture, analyse and report on our ESG data and its performance.
